Tourism-hiking

The "Alte Vie", their variations and the paths of the valleys are within the capacity of any amateur hiker. The "Alte Vie" are marked with yellow signposts which indicate the starting point, directions, hike time, altitude and peaks and passes, lakes and shelters.

The Hostellerie also supplies maps of all itineraries. Mountain bike trekking along the paths is very popular. Bikes can be hired from the Hostellerie.

Everybody can reach suggestive and unforgettable destinations such as the high green grasslands around the Colle di Entrelor passes, pass for the Valle di Rhêmes; the Chabod shelter, a balcony over the amphitheatre of the Herbetet, Montandayné and Piccolo Paradiso glaciers; picturesque lakes reflecting the mountains around Colle del Nivolet.

The Vittorio Emanuele II shelter which is a base for the ascent of Gran Paradiso; the Leviona Gorge, dominion of chamois and rock goats on the slopes of Col Lauson which impend on the Cogne Valley. The Sberna bivouac on the rocky crest of the great glaciers …and many other interesting places.

Whoever would like to be accompanies by an experienced guide can apply to the manager of the Hostellerie, an expert in alpine flora and fauna is also available for open air meetings to illustrate the more interesting points of mountain nature.

A guide is essential when you intend braving the Gran Paradiso, the Grivola, Ciarforon, Herbetet, Gran Serz, Gran Nomenon, Monciair, Becca di Montandayné, for which normal equipment must include rope, axe and climbing irons.

Maybe one prefers an excursion on wheels. So let’s have a look at another valley, or discover Aosta and its 2,000 years of history. At a distance of 50 Kms. here we are at the Mont Blanc tunnel or Gran S. Bernardo for destination Chamonix , Chambery, Lausanne or Geneva.

We could also admire the Cervino from the Blue Lake, Mont Rosa from Gressoney or Mont Blanc from Courmayeur. Mont Blanc can be crossed by the glaciers cable way, the eighth wonder of the world.
